first_imgLSU’s special teams put the Kentucky Wildcats in a hole early and the Tigers cruised to a 41-3 Southeastern Conference victory Saturday night in Tiger Stadium.LSU improved to 6-2 overall and 2-2 in the SEC. Kentucky dropped to 5-2 and 2-2.“I think this was the best overall game we have had this year so far from start to finish,” LSU coach Les Miles said.Terrence Magee led the Tigers with 127 yards on nine carries. Former Green Oaks standout Tre’Davious White returned a punt 67 yards for a touchdown that gave LSU a 17-0 lead in the first quarter.White also had a 17-yard punt return that led to a 28-yard Colby Delahoussaye field goal.“I think Tre’Davious White is just coming of age as a returner,” Miles said. “He is continuing to push the envelope there. He is incrementally improving and getting better. I think he is a very dangerous return man, and he showed that tonight.”Magee set the tone with a 49-yard return on the opening kickoff. That set up LSU’s first touchdown, a 1-yard run by Leonard Fournette.The Tigers piled up 308 yards in the ground. Darrell Williams had 61yards on 10 carries, quarterback Anthony Jennings 44 on seven and Fournette 41 on 15.Jennings completed seven of 14 passes for 120 yards including a 32-yard touchdown pass to Travin Dural with 44 seconds left in the first half. He did not throw an interception.Former Parkway star Brandon Harris got into the game late in the fourth quarter. He had one carry for eight yards as the Tigers ran out the clock.The LSU defense was dominant. The Tigers limited Kentucky to just 217 total yards, including 71 on the ground.LSU hosts No. 3 Ole Miss next Saturday. The Rebels (7-0, 4-0) defeated Tennessee 34-3 Saturday. GAA Chief says Galway situation “needs to addressed”

first_imgDirector General of the GAA Padraic Duffy says that the Liam Mellows motion to Galway County Convention which proposes a move to Munster in 2018 if the county’s Minor and U21 hurling teams are not admitted into Leinster is a “statement of dissatisfaction” and needs to be addressed at a national level by Croke Park. Galway have upped the ante with Leinster in recent weeks as the county’s frustration grows at not being given any home games in their provincial Hurling Championship and the continuing refusal to allow all other Galway teams participate. If the Liam Mellows motion is successful on Dec 12th at the Galway Convention, then it will be on the agenda at the 2017 GAA Congress in February.
