By John Heinis/Hudson County ViewJohn Lynch, a former director of business development at the PMX Agency, a worldwide digital marketing firm, and the JCDO’s sergeant-at-arms began working for the Jersey City Department of Public Works on Monday.Lynch confirmed he began work as the chief of administrative services for the DPW when reached on his cell phone earlier this week, but deferred all other comment to city spokeswoman Jennifer Morrill.Morrill did not return requests for comment yesterday seeking Lynch’s salary, job responsibilities and who the predecessor at this post was.According to sources, who spoke under the condition of anonymity since they were not authorized to speak on the matter, Lynch is expected to earn an annual salary between $85,000 and $90,000 and also noted that the DPW position of chief of administrative services was just recently created. In fairness, the same sources noted that the job was advertised online and Lynch went on multiple interviews, along with several other candidates, before being hired last month.Lynch, a regular presence at fundraisers for Jersey City officials and a volunteer for Steven Fulop’s 2013 mayoral campaign, also lives in Jersey City and is very civically active. He is the vice president, a well as a board member, for the Jersey City Youth Foundation – a local organization that hopes to “enhance, expand and participate in the high-quality educational, recreational, cultural, and community enrichment programs,” according to their website.Additionally, Lynch is a big brother for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Essex, Hudson and Union Counties, regularly promoting their events and asking others to get involved with the cause.Lynch is now the third ranking JCDO official to join the ranks of the city’s DPW: JCDO Chairman Shawn “Sully” Thomas-Sullivan works as the director of the division of neighborhood improvement districts, which falls under the DPW, while Sonia Marte-Dublin, the JCDO recording secretary, is also employed by the DPW. 2 COMMENTSlast_img
