first_imgMahbubnagar: With an aim to provide awareness among the school children about the bad habits and their impact on the future careers of the students, the school administration of Zillah Parishad High School at Marikal mandal has launched a Safe School Programme. Through this programme, the school authorities along with the support of police officials are spreading awareness among the students against various bad habits like smoking, alcoholism and drug addiction. The main objective of this programme is to spread awareness about the bad affects of drug abuse, Child abuse and Sexual offences against children and Prevention of Sexual offences against Children (POCSO) Act among the schoolchildren in all the government schools. In fact the programme was initiated by Principal Secretary to education, Janardhan Reddy, he informed. All the students from 6-10th class will be provided awareness under this programme. In the first session we are advising the students to keep themselves away from drugs and bad habits. If the students are addicted to these bad habits they will not concentrate on studies,” said P. Balalingaiah. Advertise With Us He said that the students should discriminate what is good what is bad. Students should not use smart phones and internet continuously; they should use it for good purpose only and should not misuse it. “Childhood is an important state in every one’s life. Once a person gets addicted to bad habits during the childhood it will be very difficult to change them. Many offences are done only by those who are addicted to drugs in the society. The drugs like cocaine, opium, are dangerous. It is not good to use them externally and internally.” “Therefore we have decided to spread awareness to the school students right from the school level so that they can discriminate between what is good and what is bad and choose a good path for their lives,” said Iftakaruddin, Circle Inspector of Marikal, who took part as chief guest for the awareness programme. On the occasion, the school children took part in the essay writing, drawing and poster presentation competition on the subject and those who excelled were given prizes. Madhusudhan Reddy, Principal of ZPHS Marikal, Janaki Ram, Sub Inspector, Gayatri Sarpanch of Marikal, Gopi, Srinivas Goud, Annaiah, Laxman, Krishna along with school children participated in the programme.last_img
