A press statement issued by DFP’s general secretary, Johnson Boston indicates that the “close results seem to suggest that the people of Jamaica are taking great interest in the politics and governance issues of their country”. “The DFP wishes Hon. Andrew Holness and his team well as they prepare to form the next government of Jamaica and expect that they will govern with grace, transparency, dignity and respect for the democratic tradition of their country,” the statement said.“The Feedback coming out of Jamaica indicates that the Jamaican electorate has responded to a positive campaign which took into account their plight and was well articulated by the Jamaica Labour Party”. “The DFP welcomes the return of the Jamaica Labour Party to government and believes as sister Parties we can work together to advance good and accountable government, democracy, the rule of Law and to foster a people centered empowerment and development approach at all levels in the region,” the statement concluded.
